I'm a big Judge Dredd fan, can someone recommend the BF prodcutions that
are the best for 2000AD please?

High Octane adventure perhaps, an excellent story?

Get them in order, I think. Though if I could only have two they would be ... "02 Death Trap" and "18 SOLO"

In fact, by law, everyone who looks down on audio drama should be made to sit and listen to SOLO. Toby certainly earned his crust that day.

Any of the Strontium Dog releases (Down to Earth, Fire from Heaven and his guest-appearance in Pre-emptive Revenge) are standalone from teh other audios and can be safely listened to separately.

Pre-emptive Revenge takes place before all the other Judge Dredd releases, so is exempted from Chris's advice to listen in order.

The other 15 Judge Dredd releases include some returning characters, most naotable Judge Amy Steel, who graduates from th Academy in the first CD (Wanted: Dredd or Alive), and has a story arc that unfolds subsequently in Death Trap, The Big Shot, and Get Karter!, so those four stories should be heard in that order.

While Enigma Smith appears in numerous of the releases, there's no overall character arc that hearing her appearances out of order will harm or hinder.

Efil Drago San appears in The Killing Zone and War Planet. As I recall, it seemed to me that it was largely assumed we knew who he was in bis second appearance, so I'd suggest hearing those two in release order would be good, too.

Personally, I particularly enjoyed the stories David Bishop wrote (which includes all the Amy Steel arc and the unrelated War Crimes). Jonathan Clements is my other big pick as a writer in these audios, and his include all three Strontium Dog appearances, as well as Trapped on Titan, 99 Code Red and Solo.

(My picks include both of Chris's 'if I could only have two' choices, Death Trap and Solo...).

Is it? Good lord, I never realised. Not that it makes that much difference, I suppose.

About 10 years before, in fact. And, because I'm sad, I have it carefully placed between Apocalypse War (the second BBC radio adaptation) and Wanted: Dredd or Alive.

Can see I'm going to have to shuffle my track order a bit. Thanks!

Talking of the BBC Dredds, I'd quite like to hear BF re-do them with Toby back in the helmet.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I want to sample them first, avoiding some arcs at the begining,

I will try 02 Death Trap and 18 SOLO

All this discussion is making me realise how much I miss the Judge Dredd theme music - I'll have to listen to at least one of the plays just to hear it again!

(Mind you, a new one would be nice...)
