Very surprised there's not a thread for this already (He says, as umpteen people correct him ...) but the big question is ... Who for Number 11? Obviously we all really want Nick, but Who would you settle for as second best? In no particular order, I'd go for ... Eddie Izzard Paterson Joseph James Callis James Purefoy "omnia audite, omnia videte, nil dicite; omnia edite, omnia bibite, nil prodigite; nunquam aliquid, nisi pro vobis, inhonorati facite"

I still think David Morrisey wud be good.
Or Richard E Grant.
I think the 11th Doctor shud hav long hair.
Us long hair'd guys only have the 8th Doctor 2 relate to. XD
This is only going to run for six episodes right...

Since David Tennant regenerated into David Tennant, at the end of the last series, surely we should be asking who the 12th's going to be?

Fact: You are correct. Additional fact: We shouldn't be talking about the TV series anyway. Good fact: David is leaving! Bad fact: The producers will ignore that regeneration. Conclusion: Maybe Pertwee was the first in a new cycle...

Bugger - seams BF now owe me the price of a DVD to remind myself of the story. (Or Nick could just get a new Podcast out. I'll let him off the cost then! :) ) (Grrr!! Mr B - new podcast or ... Sean Pertwee!
For obvious reasons!
Plus he would be a departure from the "nice guy" stuff.
But me, I'm a classic Who fan!. I find the new show a little to PC for me, plus I miss the cliffhangers!
He uses the sonic screwdriver to solve everything!

I second the need for the cliffhangers! I love the new show, but in a lot of ways it reminds me of STTNG. I want one of those sonic screwdrivers! Dan.

I just remember the doctors building machines and even fighting, 3rd doctor, with his Venutian Karate! Reduce the use of the sonic screwdriver, what next use it to make tea?

I think the Doctor should regenerate into someone who doesn't know how to use a sonic screwdriver, that should get rid of the bloody thing for at least a couple of episodes :)

Loose that deux-ex-machina for several episodes - does the Tardis have a sofa he could loose it down the back of? Back on 'Who' - how about Toby Longworth! Having seen in the flesh a few times at radio recordings he would look 'Right.' And it's, IMHO, obvious from his performances for BF that he can do a wide range of emotions brilliantly well, from laugh out loud comedy, compassion, dramatic, through to anger and real creepiness. There's one performance (I'm sure in a TP story, but can't remember for the life of me which. "Rachel", perhaps?) that his performance as an angry Father - possibly a bit of a kiddy fiddler (sorry, blame Cadmium2) - just sets the hairs on the back of my neck tingling, it's so good. Just remembered! The bit of Toby's acting I was thinking of wasn't a BF production, but one of the BBV Audios. He played Dorothy's father in a flash-back during one of the plays where she was on her own. A Very creepy and powerful performance.
