I disagree, I want Tom to do more than 1. He should do his own series of adventures like McGann does.

Wouldn't that just fuel his already well-stocked ego? At the most, he should be folded into the ongoing 5th/6th/7th series.

Don't get me wrong, I love Tom's Doctor to bits, I'm just not on board the "he's the best Doctor ever and should get special treatment" train.

Am I the only person that DOESN'T want Tom Baker back for the Doctor in Big Finish?

No your not. As far as I can see Tom would only do it if he was the only one doing them. He seems to think he's the only Doctor that was any good and all the rest were a waste of time. Attitude like that isn't needed and Big Finish are much better off with the actors they have who geniunely belive in the show as a whole not just there own bit.

He does have an attitude that Tom. If you've seen some of the 'doco's on his DVDs you'd know that he had a tendancy for being rude and swearing. Even Bill only swore when he made a mistake (and that was only to be able to get a retake).

That's not true about William Hartnell. There has never been any information on whether he swore or not.

I think what you might be mixing it up with is a quote from Anneke Wills where she said the only way to get a retake in those days was to swear (which she did). It's unknown whether Hartnell ever did or not.

Actors swearing was the only way to get a retake on scene due to the expense of time while making TV shows in the early days.

That's what I said. What we do not know however is if William Hartnell ever did such a thing. I was just pointing out to Yetaxa that we don't know if he did or not and that I think he was mixing Hartnell up with Anneke Will's quote.

As a mildly interesting addition to this discussion, I can confirm from numerous anecdotes told to me by Billy's acting contemporaries that Hartnell swore copiously both on and off set.

:-)

Please note that the views expressed by Barnaby are his own opinions and do not reflect official Big Finish policy. They may also be daft.

Fact: I remember on The Aztecs DVD and the Marco Polo Loose Cannon reconstruction actors saying that he actually did swear, just to back up myself and Barnaby to an extent.

Isn't it obvious? It'll be a team-up between the 7th Doc & Ace and BBV's Dominie & Alice! Shhh

Conclusion: They've brought William Hartnell back from the dead and got him to do an audio.

Sorry to put a downer on speculation, but the 'Top Secret Project' was the Key2Time, as revealed by DAVID RICHARDSON in his Diary of a Big Finish Producer blog.

'Monday March 3
I’m working at home today. I’ve got five scripts to read, and they’ll never get looked at if I’m in the office. First up I’ve got the second draft versions of two scripts from our Top Secret Project, which will be released in January to March 2009.'

But, as Barnaby said, Big Finish always has a secret project (or two) on the go. Who knows what could be coming next? Return of Kroagnon? Disco of the Daleks?

Oh, how do you get those little quotes under the line?

Just smile sympathetically and nod as if it all makes perfect sense.

Aww damn that was secret! What are we gonna do now? I'll cancel the lava lamps. Barney, you cancel the metal flooring and we'll see if Nick can get a refund on the dry ice machines! What a waste of a HD camera and a studio d'oh!
