That is excellent news. I had assumed that the opposite was true. Could this information be added to the web pages? There is no mention of bonuses (or Big Finish magazines) on the download subscription pages. Are the bonuses sent as discs or downloads? If they are discs, is international shipping factored into the subscription prices? This makes the subscriptions much more enticing.

Hi there,

No the magazines and bonus stories will be given as downloads.

Paul

Still waiting for the plays prior to 100 to become available for "subscription", i.e. buy a run of six and save a bit of money. I've got a couple of runs in the starting blocks, but there's no sign of the gun... Any news?

Hello DoktorWer,

We have run into a few contractual issue that we are working through. Hopefully will be sorted in the near future.

Kind Regards,

Thank you Big Finish! The download subscription option for the plays was completely unexpected, and totally wonderful. I'd far rather pay a big sum right after getting a paycheck (which I did receive last Friday) than three little bits when I may or may not be able to justify the expense. Thank you SO MUCH for providing this option. You guys are wonderful!

You guys might want to fix this little bit of text on the 6-story subscription info:

"Receive six consecutive titles starting with any Doctor Whorelease"

I'm not sure what a "whore lease" is and I don't want to know. :)*

*I apologize in advance, I find grammar/spelling goofs like this funny. It's a sickness.

Er, sorry to reply to my earlier inane comment but I have a question of actual value.

I was looking at the subscription service and I was wondering... is there some concise list of the advantages of it? There is mention of saving £40 but that doesn't seem to be true for US subscribers. Is that because US prices are set at a (relatively lower) competitive market value in the first place? For US subscribers it seems the savings is only about $5. I think the individual price is VERY fair for the US anyway, but it does seem to make the subscription less of an attraction on the surface. I was very gung-ho about getting a subscription but now I wonder if it's smarter to just pick and choose the releases I want as I go. The downloads are apparently available to subscribers first, is that correct? What is the delay? I see from this thread that you get a free CD, which is a nice bonus.

I worked out the download subscription as providing an additional savings of around 50 cents USD per story. Not a whole lot, so I'm also of the "pick and choose" mindset. That said, I plan to subscribe around December in order to get the "Return of the Krotons" download as well, which gives a bit more bang for the buck, as it were. Without the bonus story, I personally don't have enough of an incentive to subscribe (unless there are advance trailers or casting/story information for a batch of six that's just irresistible). In the meantime, there's the 99 cent sampler option, and I can also wait for reviews to show up on DWF, DWM, etc.

Query: If you subscribe to the CDs, do you get the downloads of the Subscriber specials as well as the discs?

31st December 2008: Return of the Krotons "You will be dispersed!"

Thanks.

The Captain.

Conclusion: I'll be logging on to hear Return of the Krotons on 31st December then.

31st December 2008: Return of the Krotons "You will be dispersed!"

Thanks.

The Captain.
