Janet Frasier returns to tell a story from the sixth season of SG1. Given her real life penchant for voices... this is likey to be a perfect fit for her talents. And with a placement in season six.... it is likely to feature a return of Jonas Quinn!!!

An absolute delightful listen! Teryl's reading is beautiful and Toby Longworth does a fantastic job as Lucca. Could listen to the two of them all day! The plot is kinda predictable but that doesn't stop it from being a great story and it's so nice to have more Fraiser, especially off-world. The music that the crew played was lovely!

I've just been listening to "Savarna" and really loved it. It's easily the best Stargate audio story that there's been so far.
Everything to do with the story: the acting, the music, the writing were all excellent. I really felt interested in the story and what happened next.
Both Teryl and the Irish actor playing Lucca were very good. It was nice to hear an Irish voice in one of these stories. I thought the actor sounded a lot like Brendan Gleeson and so that was definitely who I was thinking of when picturing the story in my mind.
I would also say that this story has to be the most emotionally moving story yet too. The scene where Lucca breaks down and tells Janet about what happened to his wife was heart-breaking. It was very well acted by both actors. If future Stargate audio stories can have this level of emotion, I'd be very grateful.
I'm really pleased that there's at least one more Janet Frasier story to be released in the future.
If there's one thing I would like to say about the Stargate audio stories in general it's that I think they need to have more humour in them. If there's one thing that makes the Stargate TV episodes excellent and unique, it's the self-deprecating humour. By that I mean the constant references to how silly and ridiculous people and situations can be. At the moment, I think the Stargate audio plays are taking themselves a bit too seriously. Perhaps it's something that could be addressed in the second series.

OK... so I speak too soon.
One of the few times that Big Finish has a continuity error. There is a reference to Daniel assisting with the negotiations. This, being set in Season Six while Daniel was Ascended, should have been Jonas Quinn!!!!!

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed Savarna. Once again, Big Finish and it's staff throws us an amazing adventure which is once again, very very character focused. I think this CD has to boast the best performances to date. Loved the song as well. Story, like previously said, was predictable but it's the performances of these stories that stand out.

When I opened the CD (SAVARNA) I was surprised that it was all BLACK. Black Writing on a Black background. I assumed it was some "gimmick" that would tie into the story. After listening to it, that was not the case.
So.............was my all Black CD some hiccup in the printing or were they ALL Black labels????
And if there WAS a connection to the story.... I missed it.
Trust me.

I'm absolutely thrilled about Savarna. Janet Fraiser is my favourite Stargate character and I hope there will be more adventures of her available on big finish! :d/
